Katlyn Morahan, Director

Tap, Jazz, Ballet

Ms. Katlyn Morahan started her dance teaching career assisting in classes when she was only twelve years old. Her lifelong dream was always to have her own dance program and share her love of dance and performing with the next generation. After teaching for several years at studios all over the Upper West Side, Katlyn founded Morahan Arts and is grateful that she accomplished her goal and can bring her values of small class sizes and personal attention to her students every day. Through a combination of fun and hard work, Morahan Arts students learn how to accomplish goals together, while achieving key performance skills that translate far beyond the stage. Katlyn's students are continually recognized at competitions for their commitment to musicality and performance quality.

Katlyn began her dance training at the age of six in Buffalo, New York, and continued her studies at studios throughout Reading, Pennsylvania, and Syracuse, New York, choreographing multiple musical theater and opera productions, and teaching students of all ages in various disciplines including tap, jazz, ballet, and theater dance along the way. Upon moving to New York City in 2010, she has benefitted from numerous professional development and advanced training opportunities at Steps on Broadway.

Katlyn received her Bachelors degree in Journalism with a minor in Theater from Syracuse University and has her Masters in Performing Arts Administration from New York University. Katlyn is also the founder of Morahan Arts and Media, a boutique marketing and public relations company for performing arts organizations and artists.
